About us

With nearly 7,000 employees spread across six continents, our rich diversity, unique vertical integration model and extensive operational and technical experience across the value chain, Tronox is the world’s largest titanium dioxide producer.

Tronox is listed on the Nova York Stock Exchange under the ticker TROX.

We have a vertically integrated production chain of titanium dioxide (TiO2) and inorganic chemicals: Tronox mines and processes titanium ore (ilmenite) and zirconite, among others, in addition to producing titanium dioxide pigment and high purity titanium materials. Our products add shine and durability to paints, plastics, papers and other everyday products.

In Brazil, Tronox has three facilities: the Guajú mine, located in Mataraca – Paraíba; the TiO2 factory in Camaçari, Bahia; and the commercial office in the capital of São Paulo, which meets demand throughout Latin America.

The main raw material for our Bahia plant is titanium ore, or ilmenite, obtained from our Guajú Mine.

To see what ore is, just look at a handful of sand from the beach and you will find grains of various colors. The darkest of them is ilmenite, which is brought from our Paraíba mine to the Bahia plant to be processed into white pigment (TiO2) used to provide color, brightness and covering power to a wide range of products such as paint, plastic, paper, erasers and many others.

In addition to ilmenite, our Guajú mine produces zirconite, kyanite and rutile.
